The new Vice brand of golf balls offers something new with attitude that is fun and quality. The new Vice TOUR has surpassed the Titleist NXT Tour in ball speed (155.3 mph vs. 154.7 mph), carry distance and total distance at the robo-tested swing speed of 108.7 mph. The Vice company is a German company founded in 2012, and they pride themselves on a three-pillar business model:I did some pretty extensive testing with the two golf balls, and based on each category that I was looking for, I honestly couldn’t tell much of a difference between the two golf balls and in my opinion, the premium price of the Pro V1x did not show in the performance comparison.As I mentioned in the opening remarks, the Vice Pro Plus golf ball felt a bit more “springy” off the clubface on a solid shot and a bit less forgiving on off-center shots.Overall, the feel of the Vice Pro Plus golf ball was not enough for me to distinguish between the two. While I like the balls, delivery is slow and after a week plus I have no idea when my order will arrive. It’s also significantly less than the Are you going to get the same prestige as playing a ProV1? The design of this ball optimises ball flight and makes it more stable. I’ve found them to be the farthest off the tee (swing speed is 110+ – been a while since I’ve measured it), and has spin that is so close to ProV1x that I couldn’t tell the difference.I have recently purchased some red Vice balls after trying out the series of balls. Here at Golfshake, we were lucky enough to test the The Vice Pro golf ball features a three-piece cast urethane cover, with a 318 large dimple design for stable trajectory and a High Energy Speed Core (HESC) to increase ball speed. Given the way it performs otherwise, I’m sure I’d get used to it.

The Vice Pro I had a real dilemma with. I love the aesthetic of their equipment, but recently found great luck with purchasing used practice Titleist balls and haven't looked back (full disclosure, I'm a bit of a Titleist fanboy) I bought the Vice Tours cause I got impatient, interested to see how they play. The Vice Tour reminded me of the lower range of the premium ball makers products, such as Titleist NXT’s and Srixon Trispeed’s for example. Vice Golf are set to take the golf ball market by storm this season, as they offer tour quality golf balls at an affordable price for amateurs.

If you’re a higher handicapper or just don’t need the short game spin, play the Drive. The Vice Tour is a three-piece DuPont Surlyn construction that is extremely durable and has a 392 aerodynamic dimple design for more stability.

The Vice Pro Plus was my favourite of the two Vice balls I tried.

The feel with every club is fantastic, and the design meant that I could keep the ball a bit lower off the tee, which is something I can often struggle with. The feel off the putter face was incredible. Again, I liked the pre printed line on the ball as that helped putting and driving alignment. It might seem crazy for independent golf ball manufacturers to enter the market. I played the On one hand, I didn’t want to sacrifice playability.

This is all to offer more length with lower clubhead speeds, longer roll and softer feel. It offers a great combination of long carry and minimum dispersion, on top of excellent greenside control. While carry distance is 3.5 yds longer, total distance is 7.8 yds longer, while spin numbers are comparable. Although the difference was small, the Pro V1x golf balls had a marginally better spin profile than the Vice Pro Plus golf balls.That said, I had no trouble controlling the Vice Pro Plus golf balls on the greens, and they spun enough to play competitively with!Let’s face it, there’s a certain prestige to playing a ProV1. It also features an extremely tough and cut-resistant soft-core with a 358 symmetrical dimple design. I hit several 3-irons to start, and immediately, compared to the Pro V1x, I noticed that these golf balls felt like a catapult off the clubface when struck solid. The ball did dull slightly after a round but this does not diminish performance in any way. There is also a comprehensive personalisation facility, which includes logos and pictures.

It was quite hard and not particularly forgiving. Yes, I do swing faster than many golfers, but I do not think that clubhead speed would effect this dramatically.This is the only area that I felt the Pro V1x golf balls were slightly better in. The alignment aid was perfect for lining up putts and means if you forgot your ball lining up aid, you don’t have to worry. The Bad: Lacks feel and is a bit harder than other Vice balls. I’ve played a lot of golf in my life, and I can certainly tell the difference between a terrible golf ball and a good one.
